The Japanese manufacturer plans to begin sales of the popular crossover in the US market.

Nissan plans to strengthen its position in the United States, expanding the product line with compact Qashqai, which will take place below the Rogue (sold in Russia under the name X-Trail).

Crossover Nissan Qashqai will be a direct rival Honda HR-V and the upcoming Ford EcoSport and Toyota C-HR. As expected, the American version of Qashqai will debut next week at the auto show in Detroit.

Probably a positive decision on the start of sales of the Qashqai in the United States is due to the continued growth of the crossover segment. This year, Rogue became the best-selling model of the brand in the American market, for the first time ahead of Altima sedans and Sentra. In turn, the Qashqai is the most popular model of Nissan in Europe and perhaps it will “eat” part he majority of the Rogue sales.

There is no more information about the American version of Nissan Qashqai, as to whether it will retain its name. Sales of the crossover are expected to commence at the end 2017.
